There is something so attractively unassuming in Analise by *doughboycafe. Though set against the backdrop of a war, the minimalist dialogue and sure-footed prose create a subtle, strong character piece.

Being a Writer
On Why Being a Writer is Neither Glamorous nor Exciting
If you watch the blogs and various sites around the internet about writing, you've probably seen at least one list that details a few universal truths about writers, but they all pretty much boil down to several actual truths.
All writers write.
All writers procrastinate.
Writers don't actually write, because we spend all our time doing something else.
This probably explains why, in the dark hours of one of the very last days of NaNoWriMo, I'm sitting here writing this, when my NaNo is sitting in another window with a pathetic 31.8k words.

This was in a response to this poll, where I asked which character people really wanted to know the fate of. As previously stated, Marc arguably survives the war, and here's a little glimpse of his postbellum life and the questionable life choices that come with it.
I think this might raise more questions than it answers. Anyhow, he made a new "friend"?

As for critiques, I always like to get them. Generally speaking if anything jumps out and breaks flow, or, conversely, seems a very powerful or lovely turn of phrase so I know what not to repeat and what to keep on doing.
I'm also pretty terrible at using commas so if you see any missing let me know.

I'm adoring this, right now. <3 The concept is something I haven't had the pleasure to read before--the intimate moment of a love that one person knows won't exist forever while the other person is suspended in blissful happiness. Lovely piece of work~
