Spring is just around the corner, let's get animated and get involved.

First, a call to action

Do you want to be involved in the Literature Community? Have complaints or suggestions or things you want to see changed? Here's the deal.

We can't do this alone.

There are a few things that the literature community needs right now in order to blossom and grow, and they all seem to revolve around connecting writers with other writers or the tools they need to hone their craft.  If you want to see writers like you or writers you admire in the spotlight, you need to help us, your CVs and CRLit admins, connect. We do a fair amount of on site reading and group involvement, but at the end of the day, without YOU, we can only do so much.

So here's what YOU can do to help out and knit this community tighter than ever:

:bulletblue: Start a feature - be in monthly, weekly, whatever you want. Some of these become staples of the community like the Ladies of Lit, some new ones like Manic Monday Musings are new but already gold mines for us in terms of finding hidden lit gems.
Manic Monday Musings #21For many of us, Monday's can be a very dreary day that we must make it through to survive. I want to help break up the manic Monday's that drive us insane. Here, I present to you some of my favorites from the last week or so. Enjoy, process, relax and forget about the world racing around you a million miles an hour. It won't take much of your time, but I think we all need a way to unwind and just forget about everything else for just a few minutes.
Say hello to these wonderful people! They need our love too! Heart

:bulletblue: Suggest DDs. Please, only submit your suggestion to one of us at a time. But do it. It helps us a great deal. And don't feel bad if we pass a suggestion up, we still have personal tastes, but we appreciate the involvement greatly.

:bulletblue: Use the forums. We look at those, and you'll meet tons of other writers there. Helping us stimulate GOOD conversation helps the community grow.

:bulletblue: Become a member of CRLiterature - even if you don't want to participate, it's a good thing to have a hub. It will keep you informed.

:bulletblue: If there is a contest or challenge running in your fav group, note me about it. I don't always see everything, and it's good for me to get updates.  There might be rare times I am out of touch, but generally speaking, you'll hear from me in a day or two.

Contest details, as they were, are below.
If you listen closely, you can hear the whispers.  Is it the government?  Aliens?  Big Foot?  Better go out to the kitchen and get the foil.  Remember to cover your temples and ears, because it's conspiracy time!  Also, be sure the reflective side is out.
We are proud to announce our second contest, The Tinfoil Hat.
:bulletpurple: The Task :bulletpurple:
Write bogus conspiracy theories with the aim of making the reader consider their validity.  The challenge here is to write fiction but in the form of nonfiction.  Perhaps no one has caught Big Foot, because he's actually traveling between dimensions, so provide us with reasonable sounding but false facts to back the statement up.

:bulletred: Prose only
:bulletred: No word limit (though, we'd prefer you not send us entire novels.

writing challenges

Writing Challenge - 1 - The Future Revised:new:  Update 08/05/2017 - This challenge is now closed to new entries - excluding entries to the ongoing story toward its completion.:new:
Update 23/03/2017 - For members who are planning to join this project - please be advised that the ongoing collab is closed to anyone wishing to jump in beyond this point.
Do not feel disheartened or insulted by this. The choice was made to prevent the storyline growing so huge it collapses under the weight of new characters and angles.
HOWEVER - the challenge is still open to you creating NEW collabs, or stand-alone pieces which embrace the premise of the original challenge prompt.
All these entries will be added to the journal link below under 'But There's More..." and are just as important and encouraged.
Stay up to date with the story so far

Meet Your Maker 2017Welcome back to Prose-ject, the home of prose challenges. We’re here once again to inspire, enrage and educate you.

While February was about writing quickly without necessarily examining closely; March is about the complete opposite. This month we are looking into the psychology of stories and their characters; namely the villains of stories.

Every person on this planet has dealt with pain and adversity, and as writers, we have often dealt with more than most. Creatives are usually more sensitive and we use our gift to heal and express ourselves. Often, but not always, this sensitivity means we can have brushes with mental illness; whether permanently or temporarily. This comes out in our work, as we use those emotions and concepts to deepen the understanding of our characters. After all, characters are just people that we create, and people are all weird relatable

Network yourself #1!Greetings!
We keep hearing people asking for help in networking and are trying to devise ways and means to optimise the community to help!

The objective of this journal is for you to share with everyone what you are looking for and share what you know too.
:bulletblue: Be honest- if you're just looking for new watchers- say so!
:bulletblue: Make sure to state if you're looking for something more niche, such as people who like a particular fandom, or experts in forms of poetry.
:bulletblue: Maybe you want a writing partner or suggestions for a particular group?
:bulletblue:  Then you can answer other requests! Share your knowledge, tag some people you think could help and share the love! Simple right?

Example:

Person A posts: "Hi I am Bob and I love pies, people and piranas! I am looking for people who are interested in science fiction writing"
